Abstract

The objective of this essay is to provide information and thoughts in order to explore the reform of the civil process, currently under discussion in Chile, from a perspective not sufficiently analysed, which, in the context of the pandemic, has acquired an unexpected relevance, namely the impact of digital means, new technologies and artificial intelligence in the development of public policies in favour of a more effective and efficient civil process. The essay concludes with an analysis on the challenges posed by those elements for a civil justice reform in Chile and various proposals are put forward, distinguishing the pre-procedural, the procedural and the post-procedural stages.
