Abstract

This paper seeks to assess how the political and normative changes in the chilean Supreme Court during the late 20th century and early 21st century have currently marked the main characteristics of what will be called its historical understanding of jurisdictional labor. This idea includes the attitude developed by the Supreme Court during the 20th century marked by a conservative orientation of judicial decisions, reluctant to judicial control of the Constitution, understanding itself as a court of instance and, in general, a low commitment to the principles of democracy for the protection of people.
